ALL THE DEETS
Four nights lodging in two of these super cool AirBNBs in southern Iceland. Each attendee will get their own bed and share a room with one roommate.
All meals! Including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. We want you to be well fed and not hangry.
Three adventure elopement styled shoots, designed to tell the true story of an all day elopement (think getting ready, first looks, vows, activities, etc.)
One-on-one time with each styled shoot couple, so there's no fighting amongst the other photographers to get the photos you need.
Branding photos of you adventuring around Iceland, because potential couples want to see your smiling face.
Lots and lots of education! Specifically marketing, SEO, blogging, composition, posing, and the strategies that will help you get booked in your dream destinations.
NOT INCLUDED:
Flights and transportation to/from the airport in Reykjavik are not included. Many of the attendees will be arriving early or staying late, so it will be up to you to coordinate transportation with the other workshop members. This is industry standard, and we will help facilitate this in the group chat.

I’m the videographer at Hazel & Lace and High Alpine Films. I have a unique perspective when it comes to building a business because I recently quit my mechanical engineering career to pursue videography full time.
Hopefully you understand the reference to The Office above. Basically, as the assistant to the regional manager, I’m Megan’s right hand man.
I’ll be at the workshop to help everything stay on track and organized, as well as taking plenty of behind-the-scenes video. I’m also pretty good at mixing cocktails if that’s your thing.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me hanging with my dogs in the mountains or the desert.

THE DREAM DESTINATION WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Education
In between styled shoots, we'll cover educational topics such as composition, story telling, posing, how to photograph a styled shoot for maximum impact, how to plan your own styled shoots, and my step by step strategy to market yourself to adventurous couples eloping in Iceland and other dream destinations.

Lodging & Meals
We have reserved two AirBNBs in southern Iceland, strategically located close to the highlands, waterfalls, black sand beaches, and glaciers. Each AirBNB has three bedrooms, two single beds per bedroom, a full kitchen, and two bathrooms. We want to make sure you are comfortable and well fed!

Styled shoots
We will have three adventure elopement styled shoots, featuring a whole range of activities from getting ready, first looks, vows, first dances, off-roading, hiking, and exploring. You will receive one-on-one time with the couples and will leave with THREE galleries to inspire couples to choose an all day elopement.

BRanding Photos
Included in the workshop is a specific time to get branding photos of each other. This is a time to explore and enjoy ourselves, and get behind-the scenes video and photos of us being adventurous. Branding photos are an important part of the marketing strategies you'll be learning.

AUGUST 21, 2023
introduction
When scheduling flights, please keep in mind that many will leave August 20, 2023 and fly overnight! You'll probably be jet-lagged when you arrive.
We meet at the AirBNBs after 4pm in Kirkjubæjarklaustur (about 36 km northeast of Vik). The exact address will be given to the attendees ahead of time.
Rough schedule of the evening activities:
Introductions/Getting to know each other
Set up expectations for the styled shoots (it’s very important that everyone understands that we are not fighting for photos, it will be structured and everyone will get the time they need)
Lesson 1 – How to get the most out of your styled shoots (including storytelling, composition, and posing)

full day elopement
Today is all about photographing a full day elopement in Iceland! We will feature a full elopement story as well as two different locations.
Rough schedule of the day:
Sunrise shoot (getting ready, first look, vows, picnic, off-roading)

Second location for sunset photos, champagne pop, celebrating
Head home in cars and review the day

AUGUST 23, 2023
education and half day elopement
Today is all about education in the morning, and a half day elopement in the afternoon.

Lesson 2 – Identifying your target market and crafting your marketing message (aka how to get booked in your dream destinations!)

Today will be another early day, as we do headshots at sunrise, education in the morning, and another half day elopement in the afternoon.

We will be taking precautions based on the recommendations at the time of the workshop. The styled shoots will be designed to give you the images to tell a story of an all day elopement. There will be getting ready photos, first look, vows, cake cutting, drinks, portraits, dancing, hiking, off-roading, etc. I want you to be able to use these images to inspire couples to hire you for more than a couple hours.
